The Disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa (1975)

The iconic Teamsters president vanished from the parking lot of the Machus Red Fox restaurant in Bloomfield Township. Despite decades of FBI searches across Michigan farms and landfills, his body has never been found.

 The Oakland County Child Killer (1976–1977)

A terrifying serial killer abducted and murdered four children (Mark Stebbins, Jill Robinson, Kristine Mihelich, and Timothy King). The victims were clean, bathed, and left in plain sight on public roadsides, taunting police. The case remains completely unsolved.

The "Michigan Murders" (1967–1969):

John Norman Collins terrorized the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor regions, brutally murdering a series of young female coeds from Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan. Though suspected in seven deaths, he was convicted of only one.

The Disappearance of Paige Renkoski (1990)

 A 30-year-old substitute teacher dropped her mother off at the airport and was driving home on I-96 when she vanished. Her car was found idling on the shoulder with her purse and shoes still inside. It is one of Michigan's oldest active missing-person cold cases.

The Skelton Brothers (2010) 

Andrew (9), Alexander (7), and Tanner (5) vanished on Thanksgiving Day while in the care of their father, John Skelton, in Morenci. In late 2025, after 15 years of uncertainty, John Skelton was finally hit with open murder charges for the boys' deaths, though their bodies have never been located.

The St. Aubin Street Massacre (1929)

In Detroit, religious cult leader Benny Evangelist, his wife, and their four children were found hacked to death with an axe in their home. The bizarre crime scene, complete with occult paraphenalia, remains an unsolved century-old cold case.
